New Wine Glass Candles with Alcohol Inks

My daughter Anali came up with the idea of using ETOH inks with wine glasses and then making candles. We were visiting this last weekend and this is what we came up with. 2 of the glasses I used some ink on the stems and the last one is clear. I think next time we will use lighter candle wax colors so the ink shows a bit better.

Butterfly Card

This card can be made with hearts, birds....etc. I started with the butterflies because I have several different punches or dies to choose from. This card is all over the internet and pinterest.

The color is much different in this photo than the first one. The first photo is much closer to the real color. Funny how pictures are like that.

Flower Ball

This is an idea from pinterest (surprise). I think it is pretty but very labor intensive. We originally used much smaller flowers but they tended to get lost with all the pins. I like the larger flowers better.

Baby Quilt and Card

My best friend's daughter and husband just had a new baby!! Welcome baby Noah. I made this quilt for the little guy and a card to send along as well. I had this fabric in my stash...who knows where or why I purchased it!! In any case I thought it was perfect for a baby boy. I used a high loft batting and tied it.

I have seen variations of this card in several spots on the web. I took my inspiration from a card on StampThat.com. that I saw on pinterest. I didn't realize I photographed it alittle crooked....oh well you get the idea. The blanket coming out of the drawer is a scrap from the quilt.

Heron Birthday Card

This is a Birthday card I made for my Son-in-Law, Peter. He is quite the outdoor enthusiast so I thought this would be a great stamp for a card for him. I saw the stamp on a card on SCS. The womans did her card in soot stamping. This is done with a resist technique and distress inks. I used coordinations paper. Happy Birthday Peter!

I used the new Spellbinders A-2 matting set. I must say I really enjoy just picking colors and cutting just once with the dies instead of cutting several times to get the proportions right.  The stamp is from Impression Obsession.

Fall Cards

We had another fun Stampin Up night at Sunny's house last night.   These are great fall cards. I plan to send the one with the leaves to my Mom in New Mexico. There was a third card however when I took the picture I realized I taped it upside down...how silly!  Thanks again Sunny!!

I love the die cut with the phrase showing. It makes the inside of your card for you.

This is the new embossing folder from SU. We used coordinations paper and sanded it.

The branches are from the SU bird punch (so many uses!) I love the way she constructed the wreath with yarn.

Spoiler Alert!! This is my calendar page for December!

I really like the way this turned out so I am posting it early. We have a family/friends (who are like family) calendar swap every year. My daughter does the calendar part and sends out our month assignments. It measures 7 X 5 and we place them in the stand up acrylic frames you buy a JoAnns. Each person makes an ATC to place beside the calendar for that month. This is not quite an ATC because of the shape and dimensions but I couldn't resist. I have had this cardinal stamp for a gazillion years unmounted and was waiting for something perfect to use it on.

The pine branches are a punch by Martha Stewart. I used a Spellbinder die for the highlighted area.
