Jeff Birthday Card

This is Jeff's birthday card for this year.  I recently bought the Tim Holtz die and wanted to use it for this card.  This is a great die and looks great with alot of different color combos.  The inside is a spellbinder label die and the bottom is the new embossing folder from SU.

Happy # 55 Jeffe!

Dimensional Card

I guess this could be called a layered card as well but dimensional is a big component of the wow factor.  This was SCS tutorial however I have seen various versions all over cyberland.

I used this same SU flower in a previous card. I really like it and it is very versitile. I also tried the new piercing template. Definitely use a piece of removable tape while you are piercing.

Crochet flower

So....I was looking at crochet flowers for sale for use with cards etc.  Pretty spendy. I thought....How hard can that be? I have made ENTIRE Afgans...I can make a flower.  HA HA silly me.  I downloaded some free instructions and picked the brain of a woman at work who crochets really beautiful doilies etc.  Well THAT WAS 2 WEEKS AGO!! Here is my first flower that I could actually use for cards etc.  Let's see...new crochet hooks (that were too large), 2 balls of yarn (that were too large as well)....approximately 10.00 later and still no flowers.  My friend took pity on me and dug up a smaller size yarn and VIOLA....one whole flower! How funny is that?

This measures approx 2 X 2 inches, after all this I will probably go ahead and make a few more :-)

Wine Corks and jig saws

Sounds like a really bad version of a Julie Andrews hit!!  But seriously this is what I was working on previously when I showed the picture of my wine cork mess.  I had to put it away for a time as I got stumped about how to fill in all the angles. I sawed off the ends of the wine corks that were stained with wine and split the circles in half.  It is very very rough.....I am glad to be done though with the sawing part. I think I may dress it up a bit with some embellishments. I also am thinking about the small sliver of bare wood left on the roof and the perch.  One thing I want to make is a minature flag with an appropriate wine saying LOL.

Inspiration at a Bead Show

My husband MADE me go to a bead show in town.  I bought a few things and that inspired me (guilted me) to play with my beads. This necklace is made of amethyst and a mix of crystals. The chains are all connected to the main necklace. It really was difficult to photograph. I tried outside, inside, flash and no flash. This mediocre picture was the best of all of them.  Beading for me is just like stamping...I fuss and fuss over a project then I sometimes just have to walk away for awhile!!

Such a difference color makes!!

A friend of mine, Claudia, has been giving me great examples for inspiration as well as some great SU stamp sets! These cards are made with the template she gave me. I had her own card to show as well but I accidently goobered it up :-(  I made the spring/summer color combo first then used distress colors for a change of pace.  Thanks again Claudia!

The stamps are from hero arts...they are really old.

These photos turned out slightly dark...hhhmmmmm....
