Second charm swap
So Roni on ink stains is hosting another charm swap. I loved all the wonderful art charms I received in the first one so I couldn't pass up an opportunity to play again. I used shrink plastic and a SU label punch with a new stamp set I got that is by Pink Paisley. The paper on back is "resin paper". I sponged ice resin on the paper. It makes it translucent and very sturdy. It still tears very well and the edges are accented with metallic markers. I made the bail with wire. I like the color on the silver shrink plastic but I think I like the gold accents the best.
I need to make myself a light box for photos. Even with editing you can see shadows......well that will be on the top ten list of things to do.....

SU night
I was so excited to go to SU at Sunny's house. Alway great projects and fun company. Here are the cards we made (I goofed up on one of them but I was able to save it!)
This is our punch art card. The strawberries are actually hearts. The leaves are the 5 petal flower punch and the stem is from the bird punch. Very clever! |
The border is a new punch. I didn't punch it correctly so I trimmed it down. It originally went all across the side of the card. |
This is my favorite card. Love the stamp set and I was the hostess so I was able to get it. |
G is for garden, rolodex swap continues
Wine, Food and Friends
Wine, food and friends is a monthly club that was inspired by the movie "Julie/Julia". We meet each month alternating houses. We pick a menu (complete with wine pairings), shop and cook together then eat a wonderful meal together. We are using the book Wine, Food and Friends (isn't our name ingenious LOL) which is perfect as the author has done all the work for us by pairing the wines and picking the menu. We are in our 19th month. These are pics. from last weekend.
Mango, red pepper, onion salsa to put on the Turkey burgers which were wonderfully seasoned |
Blackberry/lemon upside-down cake |
Our front yard picnic |
Burgers with salsa, green salad with papaya vinegar dressing and grilled vegies |
Summer Camp Card Class
This summer camp card class is so fun and inspiring. Each week we get a new color combo, videos, techniques and bonus color combos at the end of the week. Also there are chances to win prizes each week. All for a very reasonable price of $39.00. It was well worth it!! Of course you get a PDF every day (with busy schedules and summer time fun this is great) that you can download for all the pictures and techniques. I picked week 3 color combo to make this card. I watched a video using stamping and acetate.
Kind of difficult to tell however the red strip is acetate stamped with staz-on ink in white. |

Dryer Sheet Flowers
OK....I have a million sheets of paper...packages of shrink plastic, tons of felt, loads of tissue paper, etc. etc. so why did I make flowers out of dryer sheets? Well...I like the idea of making something pretty out of "throw away" items. I saw this somewhere in cyberspace ( I really have to start writing these things down) and I just had to try it. My husband (a sweetheart) does the laundry and didn't even flinch when I requested he save the dryer sheets for me. Would love to hear what you think.
The flower is a spellbinder's die as are the leaves. The friend is from SU noteworthy set...very old. |

F is for Feather Rolodex
After a very busy June and the 4th holiday I finally have time to post a few pictures. Not that I am complaining mind you....I had some very fun-filled weekends. This is the latest in the rolodex swap.
